ME & MY SAMS......HOW IT ALL BEGAN

  My name is Allison, and I live in the south-east of England. I first fell in love with the Samoyed after a visit to Crufts at Earls Court in London. I had never seen the breed before and knew that I wanted one. Well that was 18years ago, and it took me around 2 years to talk my partner into letting me have one.

 

We already had a dog, and he wasnt keen on having another. Once he finally agreed it took me a while to find a puppy, but eventually I came home with "Merlyn". I decided I wanted to show, but Merlyn had other ideas......he hated it. It was tail down, head down, and ears flat to the head.... and he indeed didnt look like the "Smiling Samoyed" we all know and love. So at 2 years he was retired from the ring.  Once retired he enjoyed his life much better, and seemed to prefer  obedience, and even won a few rosettes.        

 

So Merlyn was my learning dog, I learnt a lot with him, made lots of mistakes too, but showing him got me over my nerves of being

 in the ring..........

 

Now I was back to square one, the show bug had bitten, and I wanted another...so along came "Shimmer". A real show girl she was too, but due to a problem with her leg, and an accident between a ball and her teeth I decided to stop showing her too.

I  was definately beginning to feel very unlucky, so remembering that well known phrase"third time lucky", I decided to try again.

So after more enquiries I came home with "Yogi". He was my little bear, and he loved showing and still did until his recent sad untimely death.......

After some success with Yogi, my interest in the breed had now been challenged to thinking I'd like to have a litter, so I set out to find a girlfriend for Yogi, and into my life came "Nuala", the little star of the pack..........Recently been mated to Yogi..........which resulted in the latest addition TINDRA

Sadly after losing Shimmer in October 08, and Yogi in April 09, I know just have my two gorgeous girls Nuala & Tindra as seen below. I'm sure though a new pup will be joining the Aleski gang very soon, so watch this space!!
